Los Angeles Fires
The 2025 Los Angeles fires, considered some of the worst natural catastrophes in the United States, is exacerbated by climate change, droughts, and expanding cities. These fires destroyed over 10,000 homes, and continues to burn wildlife, and entire communities, leaving long-lasting damage. As of January 12, 2025, the fires have displaced over 180,000 citizens. As we look ahead to 2050 and beyond, fundraising needs to focus on practical solutions that help people recover and prevent future disasters. Efforts could include building fire-resistant homes, helping families rebuild, restoring forests and wildlife, and using new tools to spot and stop fires early. Fundraising can reach more people through online events, social media, and simple donation systems, making it easier for everyone to pitch in and support those affected.
